Darity Wesley, Chief Executive Officer and Legal Counsel of Privacy Solutions, Inc. is a 20 year veteran of the public record and real estate information industry. An attorney, California real estate broker, and nationally sought after speaker, she is the founder of Privacy Solutions, Inc. a company which creates privacy options for industry, particularly focused on the public record and real estate industries.
Darity’s specialty is to guide information companies, Multiple Listing Services, public record retrievers, trade associations, real estate brokerages and a variety of companies through the maze of today’s privacy and information security issues. Her Privacy Solutions™’ team of Privacy Gurus® are focused on bridging the gap between industry’s need for collecting and using information and the consumers’ concerns about what they do with it. These Privacy Gurus® address all the risks associated with public record compilation, personal data compilation, data mining, access to public information and privacy concerns and violations by creating the proper data and technology licenses, privacy impact assessments and privacy policies and procedures, among other things.

She served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel to DataQuick Information Systems for twelve years prior to its acquisition by Acxiom Corporation in August of 1995. As general business counsel, Darity was responsible for all transactional business for the company including all software, hardware and data licenses, a broad range of intellectual property matters, credit, collection, employee relations, privacy and consumer relations, Internet and e-commerce site development and giving advice and counsel to company leaders on a variety of matters affecting the corporation. She was also part of the team working with issues which surround access to public records and the struggle with the government, new technologies and the impact on people, commerce and the government itself.
Darity has been educating businesses on privacy issues of every nature since 1983, long before “privacy and information security” were national causes. As a national expert on data and technology licensing, privacy and information security issues, she frequently speaks on Consumer Privacy, Identity Theft, Creating and Negotiating Data Licenses and Managing Risks in Your Organization.
A professional dedicated to service, Darity is a member of the State of California’s Department of Consumer Affairs, BEAR Advisory Council and Chairs the Privacy Committee for the Advisory Council. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), a member of the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) and is the private sector Co-chair of the Record Access Policy Advisory Committee and the private sector Co-chair of the Privacy Access Work Group. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Information Professionals Association (REIPA), having helped create and champion the REIPA legislative watch project and serves on its Governmental Relations Committee. Darity also is a member and serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee of the National Public Record Research Association (NPRRA). Also, Darity was recently appointed to the San Diego Identity Theft Task Force. Active in the San Diego community, she is on and has held numerous board and officer positions for a wide variety of organizations and is a member of the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club.
Darity did her undergraduate work at San Diego State University and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law.
